It is a floodlight type, so certainly not a high-beam headlamp, but the light radiates very wide and far enough to see traffic signs, people and pits quickly enough. The running time seems sufficient to me to arrive at least 2 hours on the highest setting. For me, the penultimate position is sufficient light supply. It is a pity that the battery has to be removed to charge, this of course benefits the water resistance. I am satisfied with my purchase.
