Just opened package, no damage. Installed light into socket and turn it on Very bright light. I simulated loss of power an the batteries kicked in. The batteries were not fully charged but still very bright. i like this unit and now I;ll be ordering several more. I highly recommend it if you live in an area that loses power a lot. You can also us it ass a stand alone light - instructions are on the box.
