Tested the UV-9R Plus using other HT's, including a UV 5x3 with excellent results over varying terrain, with walls and buildings blocking line-of-sight, up to about a kilometer. Strong signals and clear reception, no static at any point. Used the included programming cable with CHIRP to program several UV-9R radios with no problems. Did not use the microphone, headset, nor cigarette lighter charger yet - will report on them later. UV-9R Plus appears to be solidly built, more likely "splash proof" rather than "water proof", so I do not recommend that you drop it into a fountain or swimming pool. I do miss the VFO/MR button on other Baofeng or BTECH products to quickly change from frequency mode to memory channel mode. This model requires turning off the radio and back on while pressing the menu key to do this feature. Overall, I am very happy with the looks and performance. I will buy more of these radios shortly.
