The USB casing snaps together, so it can be opened. My multi-meter shows there is 5 volts on the red wire. The red wire is soldered to a pad labelled 5 v. There is an unoccupied 3.3 v pad, so it seems the voltage could be changed with a soldering iron. Note that the description says the logic levels are fixed at 3.3v. There are no LEDs. The device works as expected when used to connect a GPS module to my PC.

This converter is automatically recognized by my Windows 10 64bit as a real FTDI adapter. No fiddling with device drivers installations. Very satisfied !

It works perfectly, but be aware that the red/black power pins deliver 5 volts. And that the rxd/txd are 3v3 tolerant. zo you have to use the Rxd with a 10k or 4k7 ohm resistor. All-and-all it's a good product for use in my microcontroller projects.

I bought one of the little ESP8266 modules from Arilux with the idea to re-program. This worked straight out of the box using the tutorial found here https://github.com/mertenats/Arilux_AL-LC0X 10/10 would buy again

Plugged straight on a Raspberry Pi and worked first time without issue.
