I like 'em warm and throwy, so I had to try the XP-L HI in the 3000 K U3-7A. Beautiful beam tint, and the new firmware works fine. By default, 5 brightness levels from low to high plus 3 blinkies: strobe and biking / stutter beam and battery check / beacon. Click to turn on, short tap to advance through modes, long tap to return to first mode, and click to turn off. Starts in lowest mode unless you enter config mode to 1) select a different mode group or 2) turn on mode memory. Remembers every mode including strobe, biking, and battery check. Using a high drain IMR for 3 minutes on high, the light got warm but not hot and did not appear to step down. Large double lanyard holes allow tail stand. Pretty silver finish is relatively slippery, so I guess it will be easier to clean but it is harder to hold on to. First impression: very good quality in a proven format with modern features for a good price.

Just got this light and firstly the built quality is fantastic, feels solid and just the right size(for a single 18650). Secondly, it really throws well and the modes are easy to program. I hv a BLF A6 and the programming is similar, just that this C8 has more option to it. Well worth the $25 spent. Highly recommended to all flashaholics who wants a budget thrower.

This is definitely a high grade flashlight for a low price. There are no negatives to buying this just remember that it's made to put a spot on something in the distance very far away. Not meant to be used in an up close environment. As for the operation the flow chart for the user interface seems intimidating at first but it's very easy to use in reality.

Convoy light rarely disappoint, and this light is no exception. As good as the previous C8 but with an a lot more flexible driver firmware. I currently use: 0.1-1-10-35-100 modes and no memory. Manufacturing is stellar and the LED is dead center, also clean reflector, no dust or particles inside.

I might try a 4C tint next, which should be about right. Even so, the 3A tint is pretty good. The light throws very far, with a good tight hot spot, but enough spill it doesn't look like tunnel vision. The light is very good quality. The programming allows you to select from 12 different mode groups, which gives you plenty of selection. I chose "group 12", which is a single 100% mode. That's how I'm going to end up using it anyway, even if I program it to be a multi-mode light.
