Mine came with a black drop of something shiny on the side that fits into the Soldering iron. Some kind of sealing, maybe? Well, this drop of something doesn't allow to place the Tip into the iron, the mounting thread doesn't grab anymore. While I tried to screw it in, the sealing broke easely and the inner components (the ceramic and the pole) jumped out. I pressed them together, it seems to hold. Now it works but I will not try to take the tip out of the Iron again unless I have to replace it. I hope this was a single faultry tip, because I have allready ordered 4 more and if all of them look the same then...sorry for the inconvenience, but they have to go back.
