Small step-up converter which does what it's supposed to do. In my project it has one significant drawback, that is the power consumption. The device itself consumes 3mA when loaded with 3mA (I2C 1602 LCD display without back light) at an input voltage of 2.5V (2 NiMH rechargeable batteries). I removed the power-on LED because it uses another 3 mA. This may look not much considering that the device is able to supply 500mA, but for battery powered projects, like mine, it can make the difference.
