The Triple Feed Patch Array uses seven coupled patches in an array—each one reinforcing the main beam while the coupling design keeps the feed network simple and low-loss. The result is significantly higher gain than a single patch, with an ultra-narrow beamwidth that focuses nearly all radiated energy in one direction. This is not a general-purpose FPV antenna. This is a long-range specialist.

Coupled Patch Design. Low Feed Network Losses.
Most array antennas suffer from cumulative losses in the feed network—the complex wiring that connects multiple elements eats signal power. The Triple Feed Patch Array uses coupling patches to transfer energy between elements without a complicated feed structure. The feed network stays simple. Losses stay low. More of the signal reaches the air. This is particularly important at 5.8GHz, where standard FR4 substrate losses are already significant. Ultra-Low Side Lobes. Energy Where It Matters.
High-gain arrays 0ften produce strong side lobes—stray beams of energy radiating in unintended directions. These side lobes waste power and make the antenna susceptible to interference from off-axis signals. The Triple Feed Patch Array achieves very low side lobes, concentrating almost all energy on the main lobe. The trade-off is a slightly wider main lobe (and marginally lower peak gain than theoretical maximum for seven elements). The benefitt: cleaner signal, less interference, and more usable gain where your aircraft actually is.

The antenna maintains an excellent axial ratio not only perpendicular to the patch, but also at eccentric angles. In practical terms: your circular polarization stays circular even when you're not pointed directly at the aircraft. The signal remains clean through banks, turns, and off-center approaches. This is critical for long-range flying where perfect antenna alignment is never guaranteed.

Good Radiation Efficiency on FR4.
The design acknowledges the limitations of FR4 substrate at 5.8GHz and works with them. By keeping the feed network simple and using coupled elements, the antenna achieves good radiation efficiency despite the inherent losses of standard PCB materials. This is honest engineering—not hiding behind unrealistic lab-condition specs.
