Having recently bought an Oscilloscope I wanted a cheap signal generator to test and play with it. This seemed idea. Easy enough kit to solder together if you are even slightly proficient with a soldering iron, I had it done in under 30 minutes with no issues. Fired up and I'm getting great square/sine/triangle waves on the scope, except on the highest frequency where it's definitely not square, closer to saw tooth. Still, for the money it's just fine.
