A powerful semi-thrower - as the inclusion of three XHP35 HI LEDs suggest it. For HaikeLite, including TexasAvenger's driver is a step upwards regarding features, and is one of the key features of MT09R. Build quality is very good again, it is up to the well earned expectations. Regarding electrical quality, there were some words spread about burnt FETs, but that is a problem so far only affecting the XHP70.2 version of MT09R as of my knowledge. Total power of the XHP35 HI version is less, so I expect, that this should not be a problem with my sample either. The beam of this flashlight is very unique - a few people mentioned, that the flower/petal shape of the spill edge looks a bit ugly, but I am not concerned with that (I almost even like it). The small and intense hotspot is surrounded by an unusually bright and large corona, which has a nice gradual fade out to the spill, which is bright, but fairly narrow - this is result of the very deep reflectors used around the LEDs. This means, that the flashlight beam is well directed, and does not over-illuminate nearby objects like other flooder flashlights, but it still has a good flood potential, so it is best suitable for scanning larger objects at medium to far distances on high power settings. The use of XHP35 HI LEDs means a much better tint shift characteristics (only very little perceivable) as well compared to the XHP70.2 version. The neutral white option for this flashlight looks like 3A tint - for people worrying about its greenness, I can say, the tint is not overly green at all. I think, this flashlight didn't get enough attention yet, but would be worthy for it.

This light can not be considered as cheap but I got dissapointed because mine has purplish glare inside the glass when the light turn on. This is only happens with this light not to my other lights. I hope they have solution for this if not I'm going to escalate this to paypal dispute. I'll post a picture showing the purplish glare later.
