Good value for money. Image stays sharp throughout the zoom range, but the downside is much colour fringing and some glare, which gets worse as you zoom in, or watch an object with backlighting. For identifying birds over long distances it is quite adequate, and really pulls in birds from far away. Note that the minimum focusing distance is long, and you won't be able to focus on nearby objects like with your binoculars. The tripod is quite rudimentary, but sturdy and all metal. Another positive point is the metal tripod thread. Avoid if you're finicky about optical quality, but buy it if you just want a tool for seeing far objects close up.
