This is a surprisingly good little device for the size and price. The working product has good performance with a number of nice operating features such as a wide range of time scales, auto/man/single trigger modes, single shot capture and hold and cursors for reference voltage level and trigger point. The kit comes with the SMD chips already on the cct board and requires you to assemble the rest of the circuit. The circuit board and components are all good quality and nothing was missing. Note that you need to supply a 9V / 200mA power supply. Careful attention to detail is required in the construction. Soldering of some components was difficult due to the heatsink effect of the integral cct board earth plane requiring more heat than expected to get the solder to take on some of the very small pads. With due care, a good, fine tipped, temperature controlled soldering iron, and a DVM to measure resistor values, a good result will emerge. Despite that and allowing for instructions being somewhat brief and cryptic, it would be a good but challenging exercise for a beginner to undertake, especially considering the cheap price. The clear plastic case is available as a separate purchase.
