Fan is always on, and comes on even stronger under even minor load. I have another similar spec'd unit (although 30% more money) where the fan only comes on under heavy load and then only part of the time. Also bent the 110/220 selector when trying to make the appropriate setting - had to open the unit to bend it back. Rear fins were bent on arrival. Seems to work fine as a power supply though so if you don't mind the noise and the marginal build quality, go for it.
