I charged AAA and AA Ni-MH batteries and I could identify one dead. Compared with my older (brand) charger batteries remain relatively cold (a bit warm) and I guess s this i s a positive thing as high temperature has a bad impact on life of the batteries. It shows the actually charging current during the charging session and it did not shows the actual capacity of the battery. For the new batteries I had two consecutive charging sessions as after first session it indicated that charging was completed but it was impossible to be the case after only 45min
