The tank was bought for 7 y.o. boy. He wanted this with metal tracks in particulart. We are new to the RC world. My son loves it when with its disappointing glitches. It took a lot of abuse. In short - tank is a fantastic machine for the money, though - metal tracks are useless (they keep falling apart and rubber tracks are better on any surface imaginable) and the tank is not really good for shallow and deep waters, as the water is getting in. The good: 1. Value for the money; 2. Durable (but to the extent); 3. Very good looking; 4. Rather a rarity for RC machines (vs. 4 wheeled ones) - kid in my son's school were over-occupied with it. 5. I think the remote is proportional (it can go slow, and have mild start). Maybe not the most sensitive one (my guees, as I havent tried other). The bad: 1. Remote controls (both - accelerator and turning wheel) sometimes starts working without pressing/turning them (when the power is switched on). Both - the wheel and accelerator trigger did that for a moment and at one point this glitch disappeared all by itself. 2. The power switch on the tank itself is now waterproof (some reviews on Youtube suggest it almost is - not true in my experience) and is located in the bottom of the tank, thus the water gets on the inside of the switch both - when floating and when running on wet grass. The result - rust inside (see the pictures) and a need to dismantle the power switch and remove the rust to get it working again; 3. If the tank gets in waters as deep as up to big drive wheel, water gets inside of the tank. Then - opening the tank up and drying it with fan is needed; 4. The sides of the back wheels (the ones connected to the motor) broke off (see the pictures). The rubber tracks fall off; 5. Metal track are totally useless - metal pins that stich metal sections together keep falling out. If that happens outside, you can't find them. Even when not holding together, tracks kept falling off the tank, made it slow and noisy.
