Johnex Justto update on my review, i got the cable today, just a standard Baofeng K type cable, the cheapest possible from AliExpress (search OPPXUN baofeng usb, the black and grey with cd), and it works great with the Radtel software on PC "Multiband" that i linked above. It will let you do things like exclude channels from search, disabling transmit on specific channels, setting custom names as well as change radio settings. It's a big hassle to do it directly on the radio so i really recommend it. For 3 dollars it could have been included in reality, but oh well.

Awesome little radio! It came in a nice box, no damage from delivery. The package came with the charger, wall adapter, belt clip, battery, antenna and the radio itself. No lanyard. The radio does have USB-C which was added in a clever way. 2 of the pins from the standard battery type were removed and replaced with an LED indicator that shows red when charging and green when fully charged, as well as the USB-C port. The speaker is very loud and has super clear sound. Playing music in FM radio mode sounds amazing, you can hear the volume and quality in this video i made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVhkrL8YOrM Bluetooth and GPS work as expected, but you will need to be outside to get a GPS signal. For some reason Bluetooth and GPS do NOT work at the same time. If you enable one in the menu, the other is disabled. This could cause confusion if you enable Bluetooth, the left/arrows to access the GPS menu do nothing. All bands are working, and you can even listen to the FM radio waiting for an Airband signal. When a signal arrives, the radio automatically switches away from the FM and then back, very cool. Airband is listen ONLY, if you try to use the PTT button you will just get busy tones from the speaker. Since the radio is basically the Radtel RT-490 / Socotran 8629 / JJCC 8629 in a new more modern looking case with the new USB-C battery, it is possible to use the Radtel programming software and also the app (not made by them, probably JJCC, but it's the only public links i have found). If you have a PC or an Android phone, you can download the software from here: https://www.radtels.com/pages/software-download "Radtel RT490 6 Band Radio Bluetooth APP Download (for Andriod)" "Radtel RT-490 6 Bands Radio Software" ("seller" linked here some software in one of the questions, the same software as above, but only in Chinese so don't bother) The programming cable is the "K" style Baofeng, my cable is on the way, haven't tested it yet.

Johnex The antenna i received is multi band. The review posted that shows an antenna with a sticker on the bottom, saying it is UHF, does not show how the antenna looks, might have been some random antenna. You can see all other reviews, we all got the same antenna, and it works for both UHF and VHF.

Johnex It'snot a copy of the Radtel. JJCC is the OEM for these radios, and the Radtel is just a rebranded JJCC JC-8629. Radtel doesn't make the radio, not even the firmware. This one that Jianpai is branding is called the JJCC JC-8630, it has a different shell just. I justify the price different since this one actually has an upgraded battery with USB-C compared to the Radtel version, and the design looks more modern.

Q: Radio have GPS, and maybe have APRS?

Asked by bubutm on 2022-01-09 12:54:40

Johnex No, you can only see your current position and a list of recent positions. If you want a APRS radio from China, it would probably have to be the LANCHONLH HG-UV98. Keep in mind that radio does not have messaging on the radio itself, but you can do it using an android phone or tablet with APRSDroid. If you want messaging but a worse UI, then the Yaesu FT3DR will do it (at a much higher price). You can also connect a radio directly to your phone using a custom cable and use APRSDroid. Search on google for "aprs baofeng".

Johnex K Type 2pin. Cerca OPPXUN baofeng usb su AliExpress. Costano circa 3 dollari. Questo è quello che uso. Hanno lo stesso qui, ma per molto di più.
