I have modified my lights by removing resistor R14, highlighted with a yellow ring in the images below {before and after shots}. By removing this resistor the lights will be OFF in the dark until the PIR triggers, when they will come on at full brightness. It means that the battery should last longer in winter as the charge will only be used when needed. I've seen a couple of different designs of circuit board, but it has always been R14. It stays in a low light mode until it senses movement then goes to its 200 lumens for 30 seconds. I don't think it's as clear cut as it could be. The 200 lumen is accurate, just enough light to be noticed and illuminate a walkway, not enough for seeing much detail. Considering it's low cost it's a pretty good deal if you're buying it for its intended use. If you're in a cloudy area and have any obstruction from direct sunlight it probably wont last the whole night, another FYI.

I had not idea the light was so small! I think you should include dimensions in your description. Also I did not realise that a PIN was needed to switch the light on and off. Not really what I wanted..I needed something "automatic" David Minett

Excelente produto e atendeu bem minhas expectativas. Só achei que o produto fosse maior, porém cumpre o que promete e dá uma boa iluminção, embora não seja uma luz muito forte. Tem um botão de liga e desliga acionado através de uma agulha, assim carrega durante o dia e a noite liga numa intensidade fraca. Quanto tem aproximação liga mais forte e durante o dia apaga e carrega novamente.

The LEDs are really birght. I have charged the unit outside in the sun, so PV panel is working. The motion sensor is also working. What I don't like about it is that is stays on during the night but dimmed. I would have liked it if there was a switch so that it only turns on when there is movement. It does not look waterproof, so I will mount it against the wall, but under the roof to protect against rain... The LEDs and PV panel are potted in glass, so looks durable.
