otherwise product is great, but the bottom plate is not at all aluminuim as magnets stick to it, so it is steel._other shorcoming is that the banana jacks screws below the bottom plate are too long for the rubber bumpers supplied with it, so I bought thicker bumpers to keep it from scratching the table I use it on.__the steel baxse might be used to keep some carbonsteel/mild steel parts close by, but it is not good at all if the circuit being twsted is sensitive to magnetic fields such as Magnetoresistive or Hall sensors.__
