Good product functions as described. When connected to a DC source the load is always ON and when power fails the load is powered from the back up source i.e. battery. To use this as an Emergency Lamp application for powering the load only through the battery or Inverter type cutover and not having the power on continuously, a simple mod is needed. I cut the DC Power source track that goes to the NC side of the relay (see photo), so the battery is charged when the source supply is on. When the power fails the relay coil looses power and drops there by closing the NO contact and the circuit to the load is completed through the battery. I also use a CV CC type of regulator as my DC normally ON power source and you can adjust the charging parameters for the specific battery in use. This PCB circuit is a pass through and does not influence any charging parameters as stated int he description. There are literally 100's of applications for this product and overall highly recommended.
