Q: does it engrave glass

Asked by BG193921433 on 2020-08-16 13:57:04

Timothy No, laser engravers can't do anything transparent or shiny. The easiest way to engrave glass is by using a protective mask or stencil, and then using engraving gel (hydrofluoric acid) or a small abrasive blaster.

Timothy The sensor is square, and its diagonal size is 1 over 2.3", or 11mm. That means each side is 7.79mm. Divide that by the pixel size of 1.335um, (0.001335mm) and that means the sensor is 5835 pixels x 5835 pixels, or 35 megapixels.

Timothy Newtonian telescope is a chalet design than this one (Maksutov Cassegrain). It has a corrector lens and has a focal length of 1200mm in a very short tube.

Q: Power supply 48V 7.2A is available. it's suitable or not?

Asked by prabhuasus on 2018-01-03 02:23:00

Timothy Yes, it's fine. It will NOT "burn it", that is not how power supplies work. 7.2A is the maximum available; the item will draw only what it needs from that. As long as the PS has 5A available it will be fine. The 48 volts is VERY important; more than 48v WILL burn it, and with less than 48v it will not run properly.

Q: Ilive in Canada which is 120 volts 60Hz. Can I change the adaptor?

Asked by greenland.angel on 2019-03-27 14:23:37

Timothy Not in any simple way. The power supply is controlled by a (I think) pwm chip but the part number is ground off. I thought I could swap out a resistor and make it work on 120 but no go. Also, at 220v the output of the transformer is 90v DC, so just swapping out to a different power supply isn't obvious. I gave up.
