Neither the ESC, nor the motor or any other components are really waterproof in terms of long term function after drowning the car or driving through deep water. In addition, you should consider greasing the complete RC car. The diffs and bearings, every metal joint is completely bone dry. After two hike tours with a total length oh about 20 km, the first bearings were blocked by rust. So I decided to completely disassemble the car in order to remove the rust and added grease to all diffs, gears and bearings. Now it runs smoothly like a cat. ;) I strongly recommend doing this (disassembly, applying grease to all moving parts, reassembly) to everyone who buys this car. If this is done (and repeated once in a while) you will have fun with the Rock Hammer for much longer.
