Stefan_UK I just pre-ordered one as a curiosity having checked out the specs in the earlier version manual as I can not find the new version manual online. The channel number frequencies are at 12.5Khz spacing. You can easily programme any cheap UHF radio to correspond to these channel frequencies as an example the Baofeng BF-T1. The price is only for one radio. This radio has a short stubby anttena which may be fixed unlike the previous version. The radio is limited to 0.5 watt except in the other two modes where a max of 3 watts is possible. So in terms of range these are fairly short range rather fancy walkie talkies which are very simple to operate although you need to check out the legality for usage in your country. The maxium range is dependant on terrian for best results line of sight high up to avoid obstacles will always yield the best results no matter what radio you use. Don't expect anywhere close to 1.2Km around town.
