HappyAndrew Right, found out the reason! Turns out my kettle became faulty right at the same time I fitted this!!!! New kettle and it does exactly what it says. Although it was not my day as when I put the new kettle on this, I think their server went down as the app told me it was off line, with 4 other sonoff devices I have. (but my internet was working fine) About an hour later, they all seemed to be back up and running! I love Sonoff as why would you ever buy the more expensive iot ?

I had got this in the hope that I could wire it into the lead of my kettle, then turn the kettle on for it to wait for my Alexa Command "Alexa turn on Kettle". But the kettle does not switch on, even though I am getting voltage to the base of the cordless kettle, something is preventing the kettle from coming on. I know I get power, as I can put a light bulb on to it, and it will light. Something is not allowing the high 3Kw kettle to draw the power it needs to turn on. Perhaps someone out there will know why
