KHF Xiaomi has their own "cloud" storage software that detects the route, and this makes it look like it is a cloud service that you also can use on your phone. It cracked my MacBook wide open with the new AFSP. It uses NETBIOS (Windows) and offer the disk in the router as a Windows "Share" that I can mount and administer with MS tools. It does not allow file systems to be mounted on the USB on the router, but there may be ways. The disk interface is SATA3 and omitted on routers without disk (see clock frequency). AppStore "Mi WiFi".

Knut H. Flottorp The device has just the mobile phone app as interface, there is no indoor unit and should something be made, they have to organise their entire home automation offering, enable everything to hook up to one "Home Server" like the media servers. Here you could make a rule where an indoor bell could ring when the outdoor unit indicated visitors, the bell can identify some, and it is fully possible to make the software so the indoor units says "Bills is visiting, using the kitchen"

Knut H. Flottorp The bell connects to the WiFi as it needs Internet access and to save the battery life, it is "sleeping". When someone press the key on the bell, they wake it - and then it will try to connect to the Internet through your WiFi, hit the site of the doorbell where a list of subscribing apps are found. They will then be sent a tiny message that wakes up the app on the phone and this starts to ring. And then when you answer by pressing the green button on the phone screen, it will start to transmit the 10 seconds video of the person at the bell. All this requires a lot to work, and demands a very fast Internet connections. When you use the Bluetooth connection to set up and configure the device, it is on all the time and responsive, until it has been set up and "goes to sleep" waiting for someone to press the button.

Knut H. Flottorp No - but when the bell is pressed the video recorded is stored and you can keep it indefinitely on your mobile - or forward it and post it on internet sites.
