Q: Is this a 500W or a 1000W ? The first picture shows the power supply as an 1000W but it says the rating as 500w.

Locosam Wrong, this is 500w,read the specs.

Side panel was dented the cardboard box that the case was in was not damaged which was upsetting but beside that the case is just what I wanted.
