animal_model Bob, I have found that the crown, or knob, actually seems to screw into the casing, perhaps for watertightness. When I must set the time I have to turn the crown counter-clockwise until it spins freely then set the time, then push it into the case while turning it clockwise until it's seated tightly. I cannot use the crown to wind the spring. I don't know if this is how it's supposed to work, but it is definitely non-standard.
