Pros: Compatible with 5.3 transmitter at a good price. Con: No cables supplied and BG don't sell a cable set so can only be used to replace a broken Rx or in a custom build. Or buy cables elsewhere. BG! Please sell a cable set and connector board for Heng Long tanks at your usal good prices please!

Q: What tank models is it for?

Niggle It can be used with any of the Heng Long series of 1:16 tanks. It could of course be used with other tank models or other models which require a 360 degree continuous rotation and multiple wire connections. E.g. some form of azimuth, elevation, rotation servo mechanism like a robot manipulator arm.

Q: What is this upgrade for?

Niggle This is a multi slip ring which allows the turret to continously rotate without twisting up the wires. The Turret gear ring also has to be modified to cut gear teeth where the stop was before.

I ordered three as spares for my old tanks. These were cheaper than others BG supplied as they were not meant to have the recoil swithc and so were cheaper - my tanks are all very old and don't have the auto-recoil. All 3 units I ordered were different in motor wiring or plastic colour. One of them was broken and came with no BB sealing gasket. Also previous ones I got from BG were in Heng Long branded bags. Caveat emptor. Good price though.

Bought to replace some older design lights that have only lasted a few years. Not mounted yet, but I have opened one up to see the innards. Instead of a flat Lipo, there is an 18650. So this could be replaced at a future date with a higher capacity/quality cell or a repurposed ex-laptop cell. I'm not convinced that the waterproofing will be adequate and this may be the weak point in all such units. Time will tell. The description of the available modes and how to select them is a bit lacking. I'm sure once I've mounted them and tried to see what happens when I walk near them I will be eventually able to select the mode I want!

Bought to replace a conventional transformer arc welder. The difference is simply stunning. Half the size of a toaster and so light. The carrying strap is a little thin and doesn't grip in the clasps well, but that is a very minor annoyance. As for the welder itself, it seems to perform well, but I have only tried it with one rod so far. Judging the correct amperage setting for the rod sizes will be a matter of trial and error and experience. But the unit works well. Like some others have mentioned, I am a bit concerned that the unit has no earth and will probably replace the 2-core cable with a 3-core one and connect the earth to the chassis (after any relevant safety checks!) before I start to use it in earnest. A highly recommended piece of kit. I have only rated it down a bit because of the lack of an earth connection and the lack of better markings on the current control and a scale to relate that to the rod diameter to use. Other than that, it is perfect for the price.

Excellent dual dash-cam bought on special offer so very good value. My only complaint would be the thick cable connecting front and rear cameras which was difficult to conceal behind panels without distorting them. And for my car it needed to be about 2m shorter. Seems to work okay and have tried with 16/128/256GB micro SDXC cards.

Bought for my already antique(!) Eachine ER250 quad. Seem to be good quality and slightly higher capacity than the OEM ones supplied 2-3 years ago. Time will tell if they last as long as those ones did.

Bought on introductory offer. So great value. Nice case and will make good token presents in future. Capacity of internal battery unknown, so duration is indeterminate. Which is the only possible negative. USB charging point not possible to be sealed against dust/water ingress so the rest of the torch being sealed with O rings is rather moot.

Quite a strong spring. Quality of finishing is low at this price but they are completely functional. Just need a bit of filing or sandpapering to take the corners of the fingerboards.

Everyone else seems to love this charger. I find it a pain to use, the batteries go in "upside-down" which is weird, the display has a very narrow viewing angle, you have to enter each battery individually and set it up as you only have 8 seconds after putting it in to choose a mode. I don't trust the charging. It doesn't seem to match the mAh readings I see on other chargers. It's hard to notice when it has finished. The display powers down so you have to press a key to light it up and see if it says 'End'. I prefer a red or green LED I can see from a distance that easily shows me when it is finished. Maybe I'll get used to it. It does charge fast (if it's really charging!) and maybe I'll get used to it and learn to love it like everybody else? I got it on an offer and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it!!

It will be 3 months until I can test them out, but they seem ok. Padded foam to go against the ski and so the strap doesn't get cut or the ski damaged.

Pros: Great Heng Long tank, good detail and features. Would have been even better if not for the cons! Cons: Arrived badly damaged from crushing and water ingress. I will be contacting customer service presently about that. But apart from that, it had a date of manufacture of Jan 2016, so it had the previous generation of 2.4GHz electronics in it, NOT the current 5.3 version. Over 18 months old! So the usage is different from both my older 27MHz Heng Long tanks and my other 2.4GHz Heng Long tanks with the latest electronics. Yet another transmitter to keep around as it wont bind or operate with the latest ones. Had I known it was such old stock and incompatible, I would have bought one elsewhere with the latest 5.3 electronics.

Great value as Xmas stocking filler gifts. At the deal price they're a steal. 3 modes bright, dim and flash, zoom is good. The screw end for the battery compartment is well lubricated with a light grease, but the action is not as good/smooth as some other brands and it is easy to cross-thread.
