I bought some of these mainly to add a variable speed option to an old jewelers pillar drill I have. The drill uses a little sewing machine motor that only draws a couple amps under heavy load so this should be fine. The build quality of these regulators isn't 100%. They work fine, but the construction could be a bit neater. Everything's soldered on the board a little bit wonky. This doesn't affect functionality, But it does give the impression that the manufacturer hasn't got pride in their work.
